Young Women Book Holders

I have been working on some personal progress book holders for my young women group (the beehives) and have finally finished them. I found a great tutorial from Ameroonie Designs here: http://www.amerooniedesigns.blogspot.com/2012/04/personal-progress-packet-tutorial.html

I opted to finish these packets with a flower on the front and had lots of fun watching all the different tutorials on creating fabric flowers. I made 17 of these packets, enough for each of the beehives and all the new beehives that will enter this year. The packet can hold a Personal Progress, True to the Faith and For the Strength of Youth book, and even a pen or pencil. I just love it.

I think these would be fun (in a little boy theme) for my little guys to have at church to hold some fun things to have at church too, but that will have to come another day. :)

4th of July Felt Wreath

This is a popular 4th of July wreath I made last year from this blog's tutorial here.

The tutorial is super easy with amazing results. Here is my finished wreath.

In her tutorial, she used labels to the stars. I just used some scrap white paper and glued them together.

I have a decorative glass window in my front door and needed a way to cover the back of my wreath so the green foam would not show through. I started to pin the back as the front, but my wreath would not fit in the wreath holder with that much material so instead I laid my squares flat with the wreath and pinned in place. It was much quicker to do it this way and I think it turned out nicely.

"So Adorable" layout

Okay, last post for today. You ever have those pictures that are so cute that you put off scrapbooking them because your afraid of ruining it? No....well, I do. I finally decided to get these photos done and am glad I did. I cut the title from my cricut and also some circles that I cut for the banner. The banner really was the painstaking part, but I think it turned out cute anyways.

Winter

I was flipping through some of my scrapbook magazines and found some inspiration for this winter layout. I printed my journaling on vellum and tied everything together with some stitching. The glitter embellishments I found from a Christmas card sent to me by some friends. I just love it when I reuse stuff! I'm pretty sure those came from Stampin' Up because she is a SU consultant. :) Hope you are inspired today.

"Daddy's Boys" layout

This was a simple and quick layout to put together and I always love those. The title came from my handy dandy cricut (sorry, been watching too many Blue's Clues with my kids). Hope you enjoy!

My Boy scrapbook page

This is a really fun and bright layout of my boy #2 having a great time swimming. I have no little girls so I always have the urge to have something feminine. I worked a little orange flower into this layout without it appearing too girly.

Brother Layout

This is a fun brothers layout I made of my boys. I used Papertrey Ink's banner builder's die for the brothers title. I was able to use a lot of my misc. embellishments and paper for this layout which I always just love! A tip that I learned from a girlfriend of mine that I have been using for a few years now is to do extra journaling or record who made the page and date on the back of the layout. I have started including pictures on the back that I don't use on the front of my layouts also. It is a very casual thing. I record thoughts or feelings about the pics or that day, where the picture was taken, who is in the pictures, ect. It is an easy way to record more information about the event without the pressure of journaling it in a cute or nice way for everyone to see. I like to think that one day my boys will find it and be surprised to find some extra notes from their mom.

Mommy's Little Helper layout

I have had these sweet pictures of my son #3 helping me for some time now. I have finally put them into a layout that I just love. I even used a vintage elastic label that I picked up at an estate sale years ago.  I used a Stampin Up punch for the backing on the buttons which I thought turned out so cute. I certainly need to clean the photograph of my little guy's fingerprints as he loves to look at his picture.

Happy Go Lucky

I created this layout for my 3rd little guy who has always been such an easy going kid. I took inspiration from a couple different layouts I saw in one of my Scrapbook Trends magazines. I love how it turned out.

Easter fun layout

Here is a fun Easter layout I did yesterday. These pictures are two years old (yikes) but at least I did it! I think it turned out so cute. I got the layout idea from Scrapbooks ect. magazine June 2011 issue.

When I saw this cute card on pinterest, I knew that I wanted to make one. I can't seem to find who made it or I would have provided a link. This is the card I came up with. It was a lot of fun and I got to use my new edgelits from Stampin' Up.

Little boys tie

Good April Fools Day to everyone today. I recently went to a craft bizarre and was a bit disappointed (again) in the lack of little boy items. Perhaps if I had a little girl this wouldn't bother me (because there is always, always adorable girl stuff), but I have been blessed with 4 boys so I am always on the look out for little guy items. This week I was busy making Easter preparations and was thinking about some new ties for my 4 boys to wear to church. I came across these ties on etsy from the butterfly tree http://www.etsy.com/shop/ButterflyTree and thought I would try to create some for my boys. Nothing like waiting to the last minute! I managed to make two of them this week.
I am a beginner when it comes to sewing, but these patterns were super easy to follow and quick to put together. I know I will be making many more of these ties and will be scouring the fabric stores for some cute "boyish" fabric.

School Scrapbook Layout

We did a little moving around in our house relocating our sons bedroom, the office, and my craft room. Now the office and craft room are combined and it is always a mess despite my husband's disapproval. I found this layout recently when I was still trying to organize some things. It got a little hammered from being moved around but hey, at least I found it :)

Repurposed Window to Jewelry Holder

I love pinterest and I, like so many others, have tons of pins of things that I would like to do, but don't actually ever get the chance to. After a month and a half of tending to a sick family, I was itching to do something creative. I love creating something old into something new and useful again. I was looking to find a jewelry holder for my necklaces and I had lots of inspiration on my pinterest board (repurposed inspiration)to choose from. I needed something that would be quick and easy as I didn't know when another child just might catch another sick bug. I had some old windows that I have never gotten around to using (but certainly had plans for one day) and had one that would be perfect for my room. All I did here was screw in some hooks inside the frame of the window about 3/4" apart and attach some hardware on the back to hang it to the wall. No predrilling, although that might have made my hand hurt less afterwards, and I didn't even bother to paint it, but I may do that another day.

I love the way I can see all my necklaces. No more digging through my jewelry box and having to untangle items. I am finding I wear them more now as I can just grab them and go. One pinterest pin down...so many more to go.

Bitty Baby Blessings

I am a fan of Papertrey Ink's stamps and have been wanting to use the old set Bitty Baby Blessings for some time now. This is a girl version I came up with using this set and also the set Baby: inside and out. I used Stampin' Up colors pink pirouette and perfect plum. I also got to use my new Mat Stack 4 die and stamp, and embossed the bottom half of my card with the herringbone plate from PTI. It was so fun! I apologize for my picture taking. Hopefully that will get better in the near future.
